Equal Justice Foundation

Mission Statement:
The Vermont Law School Equal Justice Foundation promotes public interest awareness and lawyering within the VLS community. EJF is dedicated to the principle that every lawyer has a responsibility to address the inequities within the legal system throughout the scope of his or her legal education and employment. By providing information, fellowships, and contracts, EJF's campus network encourages participation in public interest law. The EJF hosts fund-raising activities throughout the year to inform the VLS community about public interest law issues as well as raise money for a scholarship fund. The scholarship fund is used to assist VLS students in pursuing a summer internship position that promotes public interest lawyering. The recipients are selected through a voting process by the VLS community.
