Miscellaneous Sports and Entertainment Law Links
This page is for any and all Sports and
Entertainment Law resources. If you find something good, submit it here—whatever it may
be. There’s no particular method to the madness, sites are added as we discover
them. This page will likely be a work in progress indefinitely.
Sports Lawyers
Association—need we say more? This is an important resource
for those interested in Sports Law.
Ari Kaplan Advisors—Ari is the author of The
Opportunity Maker: Strategies for Inspiring Your Legal Career,
and an advisor to several law firms and businesses. His book offers advice on
creative networking and strategies for finding a job and propelling your legal
career—a great resource for anyone looking to break into this field.
Screen Actors Guild
and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists
are important resources for Entertainment Law. Chances are most of your clients
will belong to one or both of these organizations.
Major League Baseball,
National Football League,
National Basketball Association,
WNBA,
National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, players’
associations and unions’ homepages—contracts, CBAs, et cetera. Useful stuff.
Law and Business Guides—I
took a course with the author. He’s a good professor and his guides are pretty
good, especially if you plan on setting out on your own. Law and business go
hand-in-hand—something they don’t teach you too much about in law school.
Mark Litwak’s
Entertainment Law Resources—Mark seems like a pretty good
guy. He also tentatively agreed to speak at our upcoming event, so he must be
cool. There’s some good stuff on his site.
Phi
Alpha Delta—the best law fraternity
ever. Why? Because I said so. Seriously though,
Phi Alpha Delta is an excellent networking tool. There’re a lot of very
prestigious members—several Senators, Congressmen and Congresswomen, former
Presidents, and so on. Our
Chapter here.
Sports Law Review—some good
links here. Not sure how often it’s updated . . . .
